	Review: If you don't mind mock meats - this is a great place! A nice change from the regular veg. fare. Especially good place to bring non-veg friends to try a meal without actual flesh on their plates. (I have had more than a few friends say they could try to be veg. if they could eat this type of food. It's a good start!) Very friendly and accomodating English-speaking manager from Taiwan. She can always find out the complete ingredient list for each dish and can help out with special requests. Worth the trip to Tachikawa and not hard to find as Grandduo Department store is attached to the main station. Go to the "Chinatown" floor (7th?) and it is near the elevators across from a Chinese grocery and good shop. Enjoy!   Pros: Friendly * English-speaking manager * Good for non-veg. friends Cons: * *

"Chinese vegetarian cuisine, with a Japanese touch"   My Rating

	Review: This restaurant is located in a "Chinatown" on the 7th floor of a department store, in the furthest corner away from the escalators. The name is written in romaji, making it easy to spot. There are two menus, one bilingual and one in Japanese only, and it's the Japanese language one which includes the set menus, fortunately all illustrated with photographs. They will ask you if you want brown or white rice with it, and if you forget the Japanese for brown rice (as I did) they default to white. My set meal included a wonton soup, rice with fake meat on top, pumpkin tempura, stir fried greens, pickles and one or two other bits and pieces. It was all arranged on a tray, Japanese style, and there was obvious Japanese influence in the dishes too. Tea came free. Apart from a few dishes containing dairy (which were obvious) and honey (desserts?), the entire menu is vegan. The prevalence of fake meat, typical of Chinese vegetarian cuisine, kept my (omni) partner happy. I'm planning a trip to Nagoya, and will be happy to eat at their other branch in that city.   Pros: almost completely vegan * * Cons: white rice as default * *

Thank you for the review, please allow me to fix up a few points . Its a Taiwanese Vegetarian restaurant not Chinese and there is nothing Japanese about this restaurant except the high level of service expected from its Japanese customers. The menu comes in Japanese, English and Chinese. The Japanese word for brown rice is 'genmai'. The meal coming on trays is also Taiwanese style as is all the food . No dairy whatsoever is used including honey except some deserts which do use milk in which there will be a mark indicating this ..and soon this milk will be illiminated as well. This Restaurant also adheres to Tao principals of never using Onions, garlic, Chives, spring onions an.... response by Greg Meilien Winder - report abuse -
