Review: This is a budget diners dream. For five bucks you get a big plate of one of their stew like dishes over rice and pasta and a slice of garlic bread. My fav is the mock choux- a creamy saice lightly seasoned and perfect for seafood. I have issues with spicy food, but this one is always a safe choice. My beter half says the peanut sauce is the best canjun in town. It isn't offereed nearly as often as it should be, but he always orders it when it is on the menu. The rice and beans is always a reliable treat. Their bread pudding is also well worth saving room. Slathered in bourbon and buttery goodness it is dense and gooey and just lovely. This place is easy to get to and there is always plenty of parking. Staff is friendly and efficient.

Pros: cheap * easy parking * bread pudding

Review: I drove into town and stopped here first thing- starving. It was very good... but I wish they had more than one vegan option per day. What they did have was very good and the price was great! Definitely check it out!

Review: Gumbo Ya Ya is a great place for a quick dinner or lunch. The two vegetarian offerings change regularly, so there is plenty of variety. Two of the best are the Choux Choux E'touffee and Caponata. Servings are generous and come with garlic bread. Beer prices are very reasonable and include a selection of Abita. Try the Purple Haze.

Pros: tasty food * great value * friendly staff

Review: I love the staff and the food!! Once in a while they will be sold out of their vegan selection but they always have a vegan and vegetarian option. VERY HOT especially if you add they awesome special sauce. Cheap Beer!! Fun atmosphere and never a crowd. Menu rotates so you can't get the same thing all the time.

Pros: nice staff * big portions * HOT!!
Cons: sold out sometimes * needs more vegan options *
