Review: I used to love this place. The food was good although it was pricey for Long Island.
However, they recently sold the business and now it has declined.
First, they changed the type of fake meat they use for one of their dishes that used to be excellent. Now, it's only ok to good. This ingredient appears to be less costly than the other one they used to use and when I asked them about it they said it's the same which I know is not true.
Second, they lied about changing the ingredient which is problematic to me.
Third, the new owners raised their prices which were already too high.
All in all, I'll only eat here when I can't get to any other veggie restaurant due to these new problems.
The portion size is still good.
Pros: some food good * large portions *
Cons: deteriorated food quality * overpriced * lie about ingredients |

Review: Despite Green Melody saying they are a fully vegan establishment, I got inside information that they use eggs in their dishes. You need to specify that they use cornstarch instead of eggs, according to a fellow vegan who worked there. I can't trust this place anymore!

Review: I have been there 3 times. Each time I tried something different and it was really good. My two kids also enjoy the food. The place is comfortable, clean, pleasant. It is not a hurried or rushed place like Zen Palate used to be. Being I believe the only vegetarian Chinese restaurant in Nassau Co, it lives up to vegetarian expectations. If you are a carnivore and just want to try something different, your palate will be pleased, but you cannot expect taste bud for taste bud meat flavor. Pure wholesome and delicious food. Lots of luck Green Melody, I wish you every success and many additional locations!
Pros: delicious * nutritious * kosher
Cons: no deserts? * * |

Review: Long Island is definitely lacking in vegetarian restaurants, so my fiance' and I (both new to LI) were eager to try Green Melody. We ate there over the weekend and it was super duper yummy! We went during lunch (served from 11am to 4pm) and were very pleased with the lunch special. You get tea, choice of soup, entree', spring roll, and choice of rice for all around $7-$9 - not bad! I had the general tso's 'chicken' and he had the 'sweet and sour chicken' - consensus was general tso's was a bit better, but both were great! We'll be going back for sure!
Pros: Inexpensive * Tasty * Friendly Staff
Cons: Decor' is a little bland * * |

Review: I brought my husband, my brother, and my parents to Green Melody a few weeks ago for an early dinner. My husband and I are vegan, and my family is not. We were all, however, extremely impressed and satisfied! The staff was courteous, and extremely helpful and patient with any and all questions. I was informed that their menu is 100% vegan and that they do not use a single animal product in anything that they make. The wonton soup and hot and sour soup are fabulous! And, as everyone else below mentioned, the sesame "chicken" is to die for. You should also try the steamed eggplant. It has an almost "Thai" flavor that is out of this world and extremely original. Their prices and portions are wonderful. And to whomever was critical of the decor, I honestly saw nothing wrong with it. It looks like any other Chinese food eat-in restaurant on Long Island, except maybe a bit more cheerful!
Pros: All vegan * hot, fresh food * Excellent prices
Cons: * * |

Review: I've been here once and cannot wait to go back!!!! I had a variety of appetizers, all of which were so good and they had a little twist on them so they weren't just your regular Asian appetizers. I also had the sesamae chicken and it was so good I will have to convince myself to try something new next time or I might be eating it for the rest of my life!!!
