Respond to Review of Green Vegetarian Cuisine - Downtown
Review: In a Good way! Been a while since we've been to San Antonio (not since Nov 2006). Why? Because there weren't any vegetarian restaurants. Well apparently 2 months after our visit in 2006 Mike opened a fantastic Vegetarian Restaurant in SA. We live in the Fort Worth area. People are always raving about how amazing the Spiral Diner is, been there once, have never wanted to return. We went to Green twice today, and can't wait for it to open on Sunday! We'll only be here this weekend, and all we can think about is going back to Green! At lunch today My husband had the Cece's Stir Fry with Coconut rice, and Broccoli salad, and I had the "Half and Half" with "Mikes sandwich", a Garden Salad and a side of Kale Salad. Did someone say "amazing coffee"? Green did! WOW! and the Tea!!!! How can these simple everyday beverages be soooo delicious. I can't say enough about the food. It was Ridonculous(in a good way) and time flys while you wait for your food as you read the table top fun facts about the restaurant and all the other things that it used to be. By the time you are done eating you feel as though you are part of the family, calling the owners by name! The atmosphere was delightful, and the wait staff were very friendly. We went back for dinner and had Sushi Rolls, the Monster PB&J with Mashed Potatoes and Fruit salad. Yet to find a menu item that we wouldn't LOVE to eat again. We will definitely return for Breakfast on Sunday! If we haven't left for home by the time hunger strikes again, we may have lunch! Thank you Mike for giving us a reason to visit San Antonio often! FYI - We LOVE, LOVE food. This is the only restaurant we have ever felt obligated to review. YOU HAVE TO TRY IT! I can't imagine you having a bad experience. Everyone, even carnivores should try this place. My husband and I have not always been vegetarian and I can tell you, that you would not miss meat, eating here.
