Respond to Review of Au Grain de Folie
Review: I visited this place on a Sunday with my veggie/non-dairy friend and her non veggie partner, with high hopes that we would all have an enjoyable meal. The four 'main courses' on the menu were really just one but with a variation of the stuff in the middle - as there were three of us so we tried a fair sample - tasteless setien, bland veg. pate with pumpkin tart (rock hard pastry) and goats cheese, again virtually tasteless. The pate and cheese were presented on a tiny slice of stale bread/toast. Each of the three options were surrounded by: grated carrot and cabbage soaked in vinegar, raw red cabbage, plain burnt lentils, cooked onion and non-descript rice. One of my (non veg) friends asked for chilli sauce and was told that the idea was to appreciate the flavour of the vegetables - hhmm! Service was so slow - each table had their order taken and prepared, served, before the next table was dealt with - not worth the wait. The food was bland and unimaginative and not even filling. Wine was nice but we didn't bother waiting for dessert.
