Respond to Review of Organico Cafe
Review: Came here from the Green Lodge (vegetarian self-catering accommodation) a few minutes away. We were very excited but were soon very disappointed. The server was annoyed when we asked which items were vegan. "A bunch of stuff" she said in a near huff. When we asked her to name them, she rattled off a short list, pausing on each one to tell us it wasn't available (!!??). Basically it was: sandwich with falafel or identical sandwich with hummus. So boring. And indeed, the food was boring. Frankly, with the exception of the AMAZING Quay Co-op in Cork and (so I've heard) Cornucopia in Dublin, boring is quite the norm. It's said because there are a lot of great vegan foods available in health food stores, like some items in the Linda McCartney line, but no one uses them. Also, we needed wi-fi to plan our day but she wouldn't give us the password. She took about 15 minutes to come over to our table and type it in herself with grungy hands. Thanks for assuming we're going to steal Internet in the alleyway. That said, it was a clean, quiet and spacious space. There's no competition around at all (which explains a lot), so you're stuck with this one for the time being.
