Respond to Review of CLOSED: Demuths

Review: I visited Demuths for the first time in September 2008. As a lone diner I was shown to a small table in the basement opposite the kitchen and next to a door to the outside world through which staff seemed compelled to travel at frequent intervals. Other tables were available when I arrived and left. The food was good. The ingredients were fresh and of very high quality. There were cooked well but the overall dining experience was far from 'special' and for what it was, far too expensive. My starter, main course and two glasses of wine was an eye watering 36 UK Pounds. The staff were pleasant but appeared to be mostly casual employees. I have no problem with casual staff at all but for that sort of money I want linen table, planty of room and a good head waiter in evening dress. I doubt I would visit again.
