Respond to Review of Bio Bistro Spicy Spices
Review: I'd read the Happy Cow reviews for this restaurant before visiting Salzburg and was a little reluctant to try it at first. It happened to be between our hostel and the main street so we had a look in as we passed and it looked very promising. One wall is full of shelves stocked with vegetarian wholefood products and the decor is colourful, exotic and inviting. The menu looked a little confusing at first but it makes perfect sense if you take a minute or two to familiarise yourself with the layout. My boyfriend and I sat at a cosy table for two by the window and each ordered soup and a main course. The soup was tasty but nothing to sing and dance about, however the main course was really delicious. It consisted of small portions of three different curries and a serving of rice. the curries were mild but very tasty (perfect for me) and the size of the meal was perfect, leaving just enough room for linzertorte. I was determined to try something traditionally Austrian, however small, while I was there (because of course, it can be difficult trying to experience traditional cuisine when limited to only a couple of vegan-friendly restaurants) so I was very happy to be able to sample Linzertorte. It was delicious anyway. I plan to devote a good deal of time to attempts to recreate it in my own kitchen! I didn't buy a drink (they were happy to give us tap water) and the grand total of my soup, curry, rice, and cake was 10 Euro.
