Respond to Review of El Septimo
Review: While on a temporary assignment in Madrid, El Septimo (www.elseptimo.com) was conveniently located near my workplace and was the scene of my farewell luncheon as I was the lone vegetarian in the group. It is located in the upscale Serrano district and is easily accessible from the Ruben Dario or Nunez de Balboa metro stop. The interior is tastefully decorated. It is more expensive to dine a la carte, but you can catch a fixed price lunch special that allows you to choose an appetizer, entree, dessert and glass of wine for a very reasonable sum. El Septimo has a pleasant vegetarian (not vegan) menu consisting of green salads, lovely vegetarian entrees such as vegetable couscous, puff pastry filled with vegetables, stuffed peppers, lasagna, and rice dishes. There are meat-based dishes for your carnivorous friends (many chicken dishes), and most offerings include cheese so they are not vegan-friendly. Desserts are fairly standard and include chocolate cake, cheesecake, crepes, mousse and sorbet. El Septimo also features a large selection of Spanish wines (regional reds, whites, roses and champagne) and liqueurs available.
