Review: Whole Foods has alot of inorganic "conventional" food and they charge alot for everything they sell. Still - there are advantages. They have a broad variety in the produce department and you can get some slightly outside the norm organic produce like kale and chard. The 365 brand has decent prices on organic beans, rice and other staples. Their coffee is organic, fair trade and very good tasting. One funny thing I notice is that when you shop at the WF in Santa Fe there are many areas set up to taste test all sorts of delicious looking new fangled foods. At the Academy store they throw some plain, dry Whole Food brand Tortilla chips, or cheese puffs in the taste test areas and usually those are empty! The store frequently drops brands with no warning so don't get too excited if you see your favorite kefir brand or vegee soup boullion cubes. They will likely disappear suddenly never to appear again. The bulk herb section can be out of stock for long periods. Still for a quick stop to pick up a few items - Whole Foods can come in handy and I'd rather be with than without!
