Respond to Review of Wayward Vegan Cafe
Review: The food here is decent, but cleanliness is an issue. I've been there when they let a dog in the restaurant. I'm allergic to dogs, and thought that was BS. A dog shaking or scratching clouds the air with dirty dog.

But what makes you think they didn't? I saw them ask a customer to take a dog outside, so it seems they *do* ask, and you just came on a day when there was a service dog in there.

Because I think it is up to the business to question the dog owner about this issue, in order to protect your most-sensitive customers. A sign on the door would be helpful also. I see these signs on the doors of other businesses and restaurants. Too bad I can't eat there. I like the place. This is a big issue for me and others.

That may (or may not) be true, but it's not the business's fault and they don't deserve low ratings for following the law. They are not allowed to refuse dogs if the human says its a service dog. Why hold it against a small vegan business?

This is widely abused, as we all know. Most people that bring dogs into stores or restaurants are thoughtless people who do it for attention. They don't think about allergies or cleanliness. If you are blind (and certain other life-threatening conditions), fine. Otherwise, you are making people sick for your own ego.

Service dogs are allowed by law, yet the law does not require the dog to have a vest or other special "service dog" indicators.
