Respond to Review of 222 Veggie Vegan
by baratron

Review: 222 is undeniably the best vegetarian restaurant in London, possibly even the world. The chef, Ben, is extremely gifted in the ways of veganising meals. Absolutely everything on the menu is 100% vegan (although they do keep some cow milk for coffee). If you are dining with someone with a dietary restriction, note that Ben is always willing to adapt recipes if necessary, although you'll need to ensure that he's available by calling the restaurant before you visit to explain your needs. I find this particularly useful as several of my friends are allergic to soy protein, and of course most vegan restaurants simply replace dairy with soy. Ben cooks with both tofu cream cheese and cashew cream, so can easily change the ingredients given enough notice. The one problem with 222 is that it can take a while to get your food - the kitchen is very small, and it seems every time we've gone in recently there have been new staff. But the food remains as excellent as ever, and it's worth the wait. Just make sure you have interesting dining companions or a good book to pass the time :)
