Respond to Review of Clay Pit
Review: I had my 40th birthday party here, at the banquet table in the private stonewalled room, and it was spectacular. Pre-planning the group menu ($19 per person price fixe) was easy to arrange with the owner, and on the big night the service was excellent, food exquisite, served family style with much passing around of tasty bowls and platters. We were even kindly offered the downstairs room to put some music on and dance. The weekday lunch buffet is a great central location to meet up with friends, and the most economical way to experience the Clay Pit, at $7.95 (with two vegetarian entrees). Evening suppers are great for romantic rendevous and general downtown celebrations, though it can get pricey fast. Be in the mood for a big city vibe when at the Clay Pit, because with the open space and peppy jazz music, it's often very noisy. Go someplace else if you're needing a small and quiet nook. My godmother won't meet me there because it can be so hard to hear each other talk!
