Respond to Review of CLOSED: Table Verte
Review: As a French vegetarian restaurant, they do use a fair bit of dairy products in their food, but I thought they did a great job in accommodating vegans as well because half of the menu was inherently vegan. Gluten-free options were also available. But since the menu was small to begin with, it wasn't like there was a lot to choose from even they did have something for different dietary restrictions. My partner and I ordered a vegetable soup and the lentil salad for starters, then the stuffed squash and the roasted cauliflower with quinoa and sweet potatoes for entrees. Everything was tasty except for the soup, which was a little too salty and brothy for my taste. My favorite dish of the evening, though, was the lentils. They were well-seasoned and very hearty. Overall I found the portion size quite generous. Normally I like spicy, exotic cuisines and don't care for western food too much, but this meal had reminded me that simple ingredients with the right seasoning could also be ever so satisfying. The place was pretty small, so the tables were cramped. Good for us, we came on a Sunday evening and there were only two other tables dining. Lighting was dim with candles lit up. All in all, it was a decent restaurant, but I thought it would suit people that are OK with dairy products more just because they could then try the typically French dishes that rely on butter, milk, and cheese.
