Respond to Review of LA Vegan Crepe
Review: Decided to take my daughter to celebrate end of semester and finishing finals. We were looking forward to trying a vegan crepe and waffle! After driving 30 minutes on the freeway you can imagine our disappointment on hearing there were no crepes or waffles to be had. I think if the restaurant name has Crepe in it there might be a contingency plan if there have 'been problems' with the equipment. I can't review the waffles or crepes but will review what we had. The restaurant is cute, small, and has potential. Parking was terrific - right out front on the street with meters. A bowl of oatmeal, nothing special, is a bit pricey at $7.50. The chocolate croissant was dry with barely any chocolate in it. Ordered an espresso smoothie which was made from a shot of espresso, almond ice cream, and almond milk. The menu states 'shot of espresso and ice cream' so my daughter was quite surprised to have coffee flavored iced milk to drink. There was not much flavor to it. Very disappointing for $6.50. I had a scrambled tofu and cheddar cheese croissant sandwich with side salad. Sounded good to me. Again, disappointment. The tofu was not scrambled but, instead, was slabs of extra dense tofu that. The cheese was not melted, the sandwich did not have much flavor, and was extremely dry. I poured salad dressing on the croissant so that I could eat it. The side salad was field greens but wilted. If I didn't have crepes and waffles to offer I would definitely want everything else to be terrific. Sad to say we will not be going back anytime soon.
