Respond to Review of Le Grenier de Notre Dame
Review: Small 2-floor restaurant located in a quiet street nearby the touristic district of Notre Dame. The setting is relaxing with lots of plants, a bit like a jungle. We were nicely welcomed. There is a soft music in the background (opera, accordion, classical). The menu is well made with pictures of the dishes. It says if it's vegan or not. The couscous was nice, with lots of flavor but the seitan brochette was a little burned. Then I ordered the only vegan dessert, which is the tart of the day, on that day it was an apple pie. They forgot to tell me there was cinnamon with it, which I don't like much. And sadly it came with chantilly cream (dairy)!!! I was really disappointed by that and wondered if they do understand finally what vegan means. I did say I was vegan at the beginning of our dinner but the waiter confirmed me that when it says vegan on the menu, it is vegan. No need to ask for it... We waited quite a while for each of our dishes. I would come back in this restaurant but only for the main dish (no dessert) and I will definitely double check it is vegan, even if it says so.
