Respond to Review of Norman's Coach and Horses
Review: I always relish the opportunity to have a pub food experience and it was fantastic to be in a genuine pub (wooden tables, worn Lino upholstered chairs, a range of beers - unfortunately some non-vegan - on tap) without the stench of cooking flesh pervading the atmosphere. Doing a bit of a search on Barnivore to identify which beers were vegan I ended up joining my cider-loving partner in a Thatchers, as I could at least be sure it was cool (although it was actually warmish). I'd had my fill of heavy deep-fried food that day and so ordered the fettuccine with a Napoli- type sauce and cherry tomato garnish. This was fine if not amazingly flavoursome. My partner had opted for the Tofush and Chips , and I think regretted this fatty choice, leaving me to finish it. In agreement with my partner I found the 'tofush' - a slab of tofu battered and deep-fried - heavy and flavourless, with the tofu too thick and only the (vegan) tartare sauce giving it any flavour. Unfortunately we arrived late and so didn't have the time or appetite for dessert but I'd like to come back for a pint and a chance to sample some other menu items.
