Respond to Review of Gentle Gourmet Cafe
Review: One thing that's hard about traveling abroad is not being able to see the menu before coming to the restaurant due to the difference in language or the lack of information online. With that being said the only information I knew about this restaurant was that it was vegan. It was a very easy commute there & such a beautiful neighborhood. It's right next to a water channel. The waitress spoke great English & was very helpful. We had just missed breakfast & we were a little disappointed because we so desperately wanted to try their vegan croissants they serve for breakfast. She spoke with the kitchen & arrive at our table with great news. The chef was able to heat up some croissants left over from the morning service. They were sooo divine. Flaky on the outside but soft & moist on the inside. They were delicious. For an appetizer we ordered the mushroom crepe which was delicious as well. For our mains we ordered the portobello burger which was delicious. The marinade on the portobello mushroom was soooo good. I wasn't expecting that. We didn't care for the fries that are served with it, they weren't seasoned at all. The other main we ordered was the tempeh pasta which was just okay. The tempeh had a different texture than I'm used to & there wasn't much flavor in the dish. Overall it was an incredible experience. The restaurant is beautiful, service is great, & food is definitely worth it. My favorite meal I had in Paris.
