Review: I kind of have a love hat relationship with this restaurant, I was really excited to have finally found it after being kind of lost. My first disappointment was to find out that 1/4 of the menu wasn't available with the waitress telling me the things I couldn't order. They do however know their menu well and can describe the dishes to you in detail. The thing about this restaurant is that the menu is like a non vegan/vegetarian restaurant but with vegetal/soy replacements for the dairy and meat. I'm sure some people love this kind of thing, being able to eat the same dishes they ate before they were vegan. But I prefer to eat tasty meals made with fresh vegetables close to their natural state with minimum soy products. I ordered some sort of cannelloni with a vegan ricotta & vegetable filling and it was pretty tasty. I wanted dessert so after a a while of narrowing it down to a couple of choices she then told me that 3 of the desserts weren't available. I ended up ordering a poached peach (which came with ice-cream) and a hot chocolate. the dessert tasted amazing but the hot chocolate was pretty awful. It had all these lumpy bits, was bitter and just had a teaspoon of cinnamon chucked on top. Although most of the food tasted good or even delicious it's not cheap and shortly after leaving I started to feel unwell. Probably from the all the soy and the coconut based ice-cream for which I have slight in-tolerances for but not something I want to pay that much for. It's mostly how instead of using vegetables as the highlight of the dish they change them into something unrecognisable, I wouldn't even know half of what was in the food I ate. Nice if you want to reminisce about your pre-vegan days but not for me.
