Respond to Review of Chaya Macrobiotics - Hibiya
by MidnightSun112

Review: I've been going to this place for several years and I think their vegan desserts are some of the best in Tokyo. The menu is 95% macrobiotic vegan; 1 dish (clearly marked) contains fish. Another reason I enjoy this place is that it's nearly impossible to find a place in the Ginza area that isn't expensive meat-based cuisine. Chaya has a fairly large menu of both seasonally-changing sets and a la carte items as well as deli items. I recently had tofu "omu-kare" (omelet + curry) with brown rice and it was nice to be able to try some vegan Japanese comfort food. I also enjoy their avocado & teriyaki soy 'chicken' sandwich. The desserts are highly-recommended. The restaurant is located in the basement of Hibiya Chanter shopping mall, near Hibiya station. (If you're asking for directions, note that Chanter is pronounced "shan-tay" as in the French verb; otherwise locals may not know what you're asking for.)
