Respond to Review of The Tomato Head
Review: The tomato head brunch is awesome. . . for non vegans. I got there pretty early to munch and study. Ordered my coffee and asked about a vegan option for the housemade soysage and gravy that I'd previously been informed were vegan. The waitress confirmed they were vegan and said that all of their breads including the biscuits. Ecstatic - because I'm a southerner raised on biscuits who misses them fiercely - I ordered the vegan gravy and biscuits with soysage. Out came my order a few minutes later, I took a bite without inspecting and found cheese and eggs. Curious I went inside to ask if it was soy cheese and some form of egg replacement before I continued eating. Turns out the biscuits, and gravy are totally not vegan, the waitress had done me favor by accidently mixing up the order, because the brown gravy does have cream in it somehow. However the manager personally asked the cook, and the bagel and hummus is an entirely vegan option and so are the vegan chocolate chip cookies they gave me free of charge with their apologies. Sweet cookies and people at the tomato head.
