Respond to Review of The Green Yard Cafe
Review: The place itself is really welcoming - colourful and with happy music playing in the background, wooden tables and chairs, flowers. The staff/owners were very friendly as well immediately being able to tell us about what vegan options there were. There is also a little salad bar that looked very inviting. The food, however, was far from being excellent. We had a lentil soup for a starter which tasted of nothing but vegetable broth powder. It came with (at least this was) some tasty bread and vegan margarine (super salty, but apparently that's what margarine is like in the UK). My partner got a vegetable chili and rice dish for main which was ok but we've had better ones. I went for a sandwich which consisted of a limp white supermarket "baguette", hummus (not self-made either) and some salad :-( I had expected much more given that the place looks so "ecological". None of the desserts were vegan. We were told they would prepare more vegan dishes if we call ahead next time. So all in all it's not a bad place but there still is lots of space left for improvements.
