Review: I kick myself for all the times I visited Asheville in the past WITHOUT eating here! Their selection & quality of fare here is impressive & always there is something new to try or combination to make. The cafe is easy to find, towards the end of the heart of downtown & close to an interstate exit. Parking has been a problem for me when I visit, especially on a bustling Friday or Saturday nite. There is plenty of variety on the menu here, and any omnivorous friends you may have in your party will easily be able to find something delightful here. I respect & admire this establishment's endeavors to lesson their environmental impact by offering recyclable/compostable carryout boxes & composting/recycling their waste foods & packaging. They offer daily specials & soups and a wide variety of desserts. For example, on my last visit they offered a tuna salad-style sandwich that was delicious; I relished in the delight of a perfectly vegan & completely gigantic slice of strawberry cake afterwards! Everything on their menu is CLEARLY marked if it IS NOT vegan. They have long dining tables that encourage socialization between the customers as well as a few small tables for all you sweethearts... If you're traveling through the city you'll definitely want to stop by & grab a bite to eat, this cafe is not just a place to eat, it's an experience! (Make sure to experience the cornbread, it is stunning)
