Review: David Bann is a vegetarian restaurant that has some vegan options, but I would have liked to see more vegan options and the menu marked better. There are lots of items on the menu that indicate they can be veganized, but not everything that can be is marked. When I said after a second visit that it would have been nice if the risotto could have been vegan, the server said it could have been. But, it wasn't marked on the menu as being vegan-izable! We went for dinner on our first visit, and the server was very new, and it showed, but the food was good. We didn't have dessert because I think their only vegan option was sorbet - not exactly ideal for a rainy day in Edinburgh. Why - oh why - are vegetarian restaurants clueless about vegan baking?? Nothing blew me out of the water, but it was a very good, solid experience. Nice ambience, the service and number of vegan options could improve, but overall, it was a good experience.
