Respond to Review of David Bann Restaurant
Review: We nearly didn't revisit this restaurant after reading reviews about the price and paucity of food (the latter wouldn't suit my teenage daughter!). However, having thoroughly enjoyed a meal here a few years ago, we decided to risk it. We stayed in Edinburgh for 4 nights and didn't eat here until our last night. It was by far the best meal we had (all were at vegetarian restaurants). I really don't understand comments about it being pricey. No it's not cheap but we eat out regularly, as we travel a lot, and in comparison to other places and taking into account the quality of the food, I think it is very reasonably priced. As to quantity, my daughter couldn't manage a pudding which is unheard of! I cannot believe anyone with a normal, healthy appetite could find the portions small. The food was imaginative, with lots of choice (very difficult to decide what we should have), well presented and absolutely delicious. The staff were exceedingly friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our only regret is that we hadn't eaten here on our first night in Edinburgh so that we could have returned on the other 3 nights and tried many more dishes from the menu!
