Respond to Review of Flor de Loto

Review: Original review on 09/28/2012: They have set menus for each day of the week which don't change (e.g. choice of tamal or lasagna Saturdays, paella or beans another day, etc.). The staff are all lovely, and there are more than 10 tables. It's quite popular, so it is better to show up around 12 than around 2 if you want to be able to select your favorite option. We go about once a month. The only thing we don't like is that the meals tend to all taste the same, and when cheese is used it is used heavily. They also sell clothes, body care products, and host yoga and vegetarian cooking classes. They sell snacks out front, too, but they are all deep fried. Update on 02/03/2013: I went back to this place 2 weeks ago after not having been for months. I realized why. Flor de Loto has wonderful staff and a nice dining room, but as far as the food goes, it tastes like it's being cooked by a meat-eating Colombian that has never eaten anything but Colombian food. Hence, the blandness, the same minimal spices used in every dish, two or three carbs at every meal, and vegetables that are cooked so that they don't resemble vegetables. It is great to have a relatively healthy option in this area of town. But if you're looking for refreshing, vegetable-heavy, delicious vegetarian food, this isn't your best option in Pereira.
