Respond to Review of Greenheart Shop
Review: I've been to several so-called "green" shops and while they all have merit, often the price is too prohibitive to be of much value. A lot of products at Greenheart are produced very ethically and look awesome, but aren't really necessary in one's day to day life. An example is the recent product of paper (note cards, etc.) made from elephant poop - yes, you read that right. It's "imported" from Asia and made sustainably while helping protect elephants' habitats. Is that a noble venture? Absolutely, but I'm not sure it's worth $15 or so for a bit of paper. The kitchen items are cool, but most of the store falls into the gift section where non-eco people would go to shop for people like me who are "into" green/recycled stuff. Still, if you're in the area and enjoy looking at the ingenuity of people creating things from otherwise "trash," it's worth a visit. And if you need a unique gift, head here too. Just don't go looking for an all-purpose "green" general store like the amazing Park+Vine in Cincinnati.
