Respond to Review of Caidie New Vegetarian Concept
Review: This wasn't actually the veggie restaurant we were looking for, but we couldn't find the other one and found this one instead. It's on the crossroads of North, South, West and East Chunxi Roads inside a shopping centre. On the outside of the shopping centre is a list of all the shops/restaurants which are inside it and next to 9th floor we saw that there was a vegetarian restaurant so we decided to try it out and later matched it up to this description on Happycow. The staff didn't speak English, but the menu was in pictures with English translations. The tea they served with the food was complementary, which is always nice. They didn't let us sit by the window for some reason though, which was a bit of a shame as we wanted to enjoy the view down from the 9th floor. We ordered the ribs, glibbery noodles and dumplings and all three were delicious. The ribs were quite sweet. The noodles weren't very spicy, so don't worry about the chillies. After we'd eaten all of this we decided to order the kabobs and the wonton dumplings. The kabobs were nice - the texture was lovely, but they were very salty. Too salty for me. The wonton soup was good, the dumplings were nice, but nothing special. The first three things we ordered were definitely better. Our final bill came to less than Y100 (about Y80 or so), which is great value for money. The only thing that was slightly off-putting about this place is that the waitress stood by our table waiting for us to decide what we were going to eat while we read the menu. The menu is very extensive and it took us a while to go through and she was there tapping away at her notebook with her pen, obviously impatient. It would be much better for all of us, if she just let us look and then came back when we're ready.
