Respond to Review of Brewery Bay
Review: Came here on a Sunday night with my ladyfriend after having spent the weekend portaging. It was quiet with a couple of drunks on the bar side of the restaurant and a couple of tables on the dining side including families with loud kids. A lot of booths were available. It was darkly lit with hardwood floors, wooden tables and a brick wall. Classic rock played throughout the meal. We, being vegans, ordered three of the few items that didn't require cheese to make the meal: deep-fried pickles (sans the creamy dressing, with a cajun sauce instead), buffalo-style veggie fingers and a 'gourmet' veggie burger. The deep-fried pickles were fantastic: juicy, massive and greasy. The veggie fingers were identified as Gardein. They came out cold and way too soft, but were flavourful. The burger tasted like Yves, and came with roasted eggplant and red peppers on a ciabatta bun. Very satisfying. Pretty pricey. Our meal, with a pitcher of beer, came out to $57 before tip. The server didn't know what a vegan was, but the chef did, and now she does, too!
