Review: There are 3 of these supermarkets now (original one in Granby, one in Longueuil on the south shore, opened in 2007 and one at carttier dix30, on the outh shore too, opened in 2011? approx.) I have been going to the one in Longueuil ever since it opened in 2007 and it is just great. for my family it is like our local grocer's store where everyone knows you-- even if their staff changes quite a lot, most of them being students, i am always welcomed like an old customer (i always thought i am the most serious customer since i do my grocery and household shopping there exclusively, whereas other customers only buy few things and definitely go elsewhere for the rest). This is just a paranthesis to give you an idea as of why i know more abouyt their products and their placeent (oh, that chnages too often) than a lot of their newer staff. This place has been great since the beginning, it was built in a eco-friendly manner, uses bio-degradable plastic bags and offers cardboard boxes (in which they got some products from suppliers). They sell mostly food: fresh produce, frozen, or refrigerated, diary, meat,(a great selection of vegan substitutes of dairy and meat) natural drinks, bakery, grains, floors, most of what a grocer's would. They also have a good selection of gluten-free foods, of condiments of all sorts, deserts, anything you'd want. They also have natural and/or organic cleaning products and cosmetics, a great selection of supplements and natuiral medicine (eg homepathic), a lot of books, eco household products (clothesline clips, sponges, natural parchment paper, detergents of all kind etc etc). Inside the store there is also a small cafe which offers drinks, sandwiches, soups, wraps, salads etc. Not an amazing choice for dining there everyday, but definitely nice if you are in the neighbourhood. They do have some vegan choices, we had a family meal there last year and it was moderately priced. Talking of pricing... they are quite affordable and with time their prices got better. All in all it is a great place and such a relaxong experinece vs the traditional supermarkets - people (fellow shoppers) are nicer, there is classical music in the backgraound, it is always extremely clean, their staff are very polite and helpful and quite knowledgeable. I went to other natural and organic supermarkets and Avril(together with the TAU chain) are by far the best and largest, where you can find almost anything you'd need on a regular basis.
