Respond to Review of Dolce Vegan
Review: I am a bit bias as Italian is my favourite cuisine but this was pure torture! The first visit (28th June) my partner and I popped in during the day so she could get a cake to take away (Tiramisu), she loved it. We went back that evening and I had the mixed appetiser (vegan cheeses, meats, marinated tofu, saitan and tempah) and ravioli with saitan ragu. My partner had the carbonara. Both were orgasmic. We washed it down with half a bottle of local wine which at 6 euro is cheaper than a glass in most of Florence. We had to go back the following night, I had lasagne and my partner the gnocchi with saitan ragu plus a cake to take away, again all was excellent. The place itself has a large 'fishtank tv' (a tv with images of fish swimming around, rather relaxing), is clean and modern yet dimly lit and cosy. They are quite strong on the vegan message without being too forceful/over the top. Menus are available in both Italian and English. There is no waitress service but this probably helps to keep the price so low. We left very satisfied both nights, the first night €31, the second €27, for the quality of the food this represents amazing value! They also sell vegan meats, cheeses etc. to take away. I couldn't recommend Dolce Vegan enough!
