Respond to Review of Dolce Vegan
Review: We admire the commitment and courage of the owner to open an all-vegan restaurant/bakery in Florence. According to the owner, most people who dine there are not vegan. But, there are plenty of vegan outreach materials (including the placemats!) so hopefully, some will be persuaded towards cruelty-free eating. My boyfriend and I had the ravioli with pesto and the eggplant "parmesan" (in photos above). They were both tasty. Whole wheat bread was served as well. Portion sizes weren't huge, so they there was plenty of room for dessert. Cakes come with soy whipped cream, so be sure to ask for it on the side or not at all if you're not a fan of it (I'm not). The fig cake was a little dry but the blueberry cheesecake was tangy and rich. We got four types of cookies to go as well. The one with jam topping was the best. We liked the fact that the cutlery, plates, glasses were all bio-degradable.
