Review: Actually Kau Kaleshen is a hotel. if we have knew that we would have stayed there. We didnt expect a lot but were really positively surprised. as we are very limited with spanish, the waitress called the chef. she happily showed us all vegan options. first we got offered a very delicious beetroot "mayonaise" with freshly bake wholegrain bread. wow what a start! i normally dont like beetroot but this really was a nice mayonaise. to say, in argentina they dont have white vegan mayonaise as we are used to. they had it few years ago but then mysteriously gone in the shops. so mostly they serve hummous or a carrot mayonaise. this was followed by a nice simple pea/potatoe soup with some sesame seeds. as main dish i had a mushroom risotto with tofu. there were different types of mushroom and they were very rich in flavour and the rice perfect to the point. something else they had on the menu was rice with vegetables and tofu. my boyfriends option the vegan schnitzel milanese sandwich. and wow this is a nice size sandwich! prepared with love for sure. very fresh bread with carrots, different green leaves, tomatoes, avocado, different seeds and yeast flakes with a red pepper sauce and some crisps on the side. the waitress was very attentive. the owners really try to push vegetarianism in their village and they really do it with passion. on the menu we saw that they made lunchboxes, so as they are closed on monday and we went on a daytrip we ordered two. the same sandwich as my boyfriend had for dinner. they are huge but i can tell you everyone stared at us when eating these on a bench!!! as el calafate is in the south they dont have lots of local vegetables so the menus are kept simple, which is perfectly fine to me. the preparation of the food is the point and that is just perfect!

Thanks for your comment we are so happy for that, now is the begining of the winter time and the hotel be closed for four months , so we take the oportunity to start work in differents varieties of schnitzels with diferents cereals, we have many ideas for the future thank very much for you support !!!!
