Respond to Review of Top Thai
Review: This isn't top of the line Thai food like we've had in Hawaii, where they grew the pineapple and some other ingredients fresh. However, for a family restaurant, the food is pretty darn good, and amazingly inexpensive for the Bay area. The staff is quite friendly, knowledgable about what is in the food, and quite willing to work with vegans to veganize non-vegan dishes. From the vegetarian menu we had "Vegetables Yellow Curry", "Peanut Sauce Tofu" (spinach, broccoli and tofu with peanut sauce), and "Vegetarian Pad Thai" (they left out the eggs for us). All were delicious. Also, we had the pineapple fried rice from the regular menu, and they left out the seafood and eggs, and substituted in tofu. Although the pineapple was canned, the dish was still good as it also contained cashews, raisins, onions and tomatoes. There's not much downside to this place. It can get a bit crowded on weekend nights, but not insanely crowded, and parking can be a bit tight, but is often readily available right in front of the door. Service can be a bit slow, but not terribly slow. Overall, it's a place worth visiting, and many of the locals have figured that out.
