Respond to Review of Veggie Brau
Review: It's great that more and more veggie places open up outside of Vienna so that people there get to know veg*an cuisine as well. Veggie Breu is an enjoyable place if you don't mind that even when having sat in the non-smoking area you smell like an ash tray afterwards... The food is mainly pub food - a few salads, different sandwiches and things like Gemeselaibchen, a few desserts - it's a bit of a shame that only about a third of the menu is vegan - there would have been so many things I would have liked to try otherwise. I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to veganise the pizza style sandwiches... The staff were very friendly but also smoked when standing behind the counter - when will people realise that it's not appetising to have their food prepared with nicotine hands?? The food itself was good - we tried out different sandwiches (small one 3,80€, a bigger spinach tofu one for 6,80€) which were all eaten up very quickly for the price charged. The warm Apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce was very good in price and quality though. I also tried a hot chocolate (vegan) which came with a piece of milk chocolate - it would be nice if the staff were a bit more attentive. Anyway, I hope a lot of people come and try out Veggie Breu as it sure has got a lot of potential and is a place to mix up with the local crowd which doesn't happen in many veggie places.
