Review: How can we even begin to describe The Lodge?! All I can say is, you MUST visit to believe that it's true. We ventured to Grenada October 19-26, 2013 for a one week honeymoon and stayed at The Lodge for the duration of our time on the Isle of Spice. Mark, the owner, is just wonderful. He helped us out tremendously before we even arrived by promptly responding to our inquiries about packages, pricing, flight times, etc. Our flights even got canceled by the airline a few months before the trip and Mark was extremely accommodating and allowed us to change the dates! The booking process was very easy, and the wire transfers were a piece of cake due to Mark's clear instructions. He was truly a gracious host and made us feel so welcomed. His son Matthew provided transports to and from the airport and Mark gave us a personalized tour our first morning on the island, including of the best local beaches and where to find veg food. They were also extremely accommodating on the Sunday and holiday we were there, recognizing that local buses were not running, they drove us down to the beach - so kind! Mark is an extraordinarily talented cook and does what he calls "inspirational cooking," or rather, he cooks without recipes! Some of the fresh fruits and veggies he used were from his land - THE most delicious meals!! Typical breakfast was: toast, 2 fruit spreads and peanut butter, meusli, soymilk, fruit salad, tea or coffee, and a super yummy smoothie. Dinner was four courses every night...soup, salad, entree, and dessert - there was not one dish that we didn't like. In fact, we loved everything so much, we may have licked our plates clean once or twice! Everything is made from scratch and is so full of flavor. Also, more than half of the time on our trip, we didn't even eat lunch because we were still full from breakfast, and knew that a big dinner was coming our way every evening. Breakfast and dinner are served on the porch, with views of the Caribbean and St. George's. This place is so romantic! We must have said, "Wooooooow!!" about a million times during our first few hours at The Lodge. The rooms are clean and really sweet - we slept with the doors open every night and it was wonderful to get that cross breeze on top of the mountain; not to mention waking up to a view of the Caribbean ocean from our bed! The bed was incredibly comfortable. The lap pool was nice to swim in (very clean!), especially after a long day at the beach. We even swam in it during a li
