Respond to Review of Loving Hut - Tampa
Review: I have been a vegan for about a year now, and I just started a new job close to the Loving Hut restaurant. I was very excited to find out that it was in the area, and I finally got the chance to stop by today. The building doesn't look like much from the outside (and is ironically across from a place called "House of Meat"), but inside is a small but clean restaurant. I was there between 2-3pm, and there were 8 customers, including me, three of whom arrived at the same time I did. The owners/staff were pleasant and accomodating. They brought out water very quickly and took orders in the order that we came in. I had the Spring Rolls and a Coconut Smoothie. The orders came out fairly quickly. The food was delicious, especially with the dipping sauce! The staff was very attentive and made sure that everyone's order was right and that the water was refilled. As for the cult claims, Supreme Master TV was playing, but the volume was very low (it had subtitles), so it's easy to ignore. The owners are not preachy or pushy about their religious beliefs. They have some of Ching Hai's writings and pamphlets, some for sale and some free, but they don't push it on you. Their religion is one that preaches kindness, so don't worry. Just a note: the restaurant is in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood, but it should be fairly safe in the daytime. I'd recommend visiting for lunch. In short, I'm very glad that I have discovered Loving Hut and hope to have the opportunity to go back again many times.
