Respond to Review of Zur Sonnenblume
Review: I thought this was a very nice little place, in a part of Koln that I otherwise wouldn't have seen. It was designed in a rather idiosyncratic manner, and was completely empty from the point when we turned up to the point when we left, which concerned me a little at first - but the food! We had to ask specifically for vegan options, as everything on the menu seemed to come with a creamy sauce, but this was no hassle and was readily agreed to. The food was quite expensive, at €12.50 for the tofu steak, but the portion sizes were utterly enormous - there was no way we were going home hungry. The steak (actually more like three separate steaks) came in an excellent peppery tomato sauce, with fried potatoes, and we could take as much as we liked from the salad buffet (which, apart from the dressings, was entirely vegan) - not that there was much room for more food! despite the quiet atmosphere, the owner was a lovely and very enthusiastic woman, obviously passionate about her food and confident in her ability to serve us something we'd enjoy, and I would certainly go back if I found yself in Koln again.
