Review: On the Caribbean side of Costa Rica, six miles south of Puerto Viejo in an area called Punta Uva, there is a wonderful cafe called Jardin del Angel. And as the name implies, it is absolutely just that. Angel Garden. In a comfortable, shaded, open air setting in the midst of a lush tropical garden. Jean Pierre, owner and chef prepares absolutely soul warming food with the utmost important ingredient... love. Morning meals are terrific traditional Tico, or you can please your palate with a yummy European style breakfast. Jean Pierre is also a master creator of incredible baked goods and pastries. We started our day, with a slice of lemon cake with yogurt cream, along with an exceptional fresh ground and brewed cup of coffee. It was pure bliss. The fresh fruit juices are absolutely amazing. The noni lemon juice was my favorite. You can enjoy watermelon, papaya, mango, banana, and cantaloupe juices... or you can combine the tropical lushness and make your own drink to guzzle gulp the goodness. Lunch and Dinner are new and exciting creations every day! The main courses were delightful and the sides were just amazing! We are talking hand made gnocchi, thai style noodles with fresh vegetables, comforting lentil dal with creamy buckwheat, salads and sides that are so thought out and full of ingredients we were bursting with happiness! Everything is freshly prepared per order and is created with the utmost integrity and care. Being vegetarian, we were in heaven as we fueled our minds and spirits with this wonderfully energizing and fabulous food. We absolutely experienced 'Pura Vida'as we dined and bonded with Jean Pierre and his awesome assistant Yoleny, at the angelic cafe called Jardin del Angel. Experience the goodness.
