Review: Makeda is located in what New Brunswick has termed its "theater district," which means that it's trying to be classy. It is, but that also means that the prices are as well, which is no good. This is, by far, the most expensive Ethiopian restaurant I have ever visited. Prices are well over 50% higher than anywhere in New York or Philadelphia. You are not "allowed" to share entrees, though you may encounter a nice server who permits it. Makeda is also the least good Ethiopian food I have ever had. It's not *bad* but it's just kind of there. If you've never had Ethiopian before, you will probably like it. Once you have it anywhere else, you will probably not think that Makeda is all that good anymore. I literally do not know a single person who likes this place and who has also eaten at other Ethiopian restaurants. Even Philadelphia has better Ethiopian than this. If you can make it, just go to New York. It's not that much further, and pretty much anywhere you find will be WAY better.
