Respond to Review of Royal Sweets and Fast Food
Review: Indian fast food...prepared well. Order at the counter and there are simple tables for you to eat in or take it to go. You'll find samosas, channa bathura, various chaats and dosas. So many vegan offerings I couldn't keep count. They had sign in the window saying they'll soon have a vegan buffet! The food is great but the real reason to come here is the amazing North Indian sweets. These are all vegetarian, so if you are vegan do not get your hopes up. They only had two that were vegan. That said, the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. I knew nothing going in and learned that the North Indian sweets are generally made of pure milk and laced with dried fruits or cashews, almonds, or pistachios. They had chum chum, a Bengali sweet made with milk, flour and cottage cheese, and south Indian Mysore Pak, made with flour and ghee (clarified butter). Coconut is a popular filler for many items. The stores also carry dry snacks and make fresh sugarcane juice and mango lassis. Driving past, if you blink you'll miss the store. It's located on the side of a non-descript, kind of run down stip mall. Don't let this detour you. THANK YOU to whoever listed this on HappyCow b/c they enabled me to discover this incredible place. I traveled an hour out of my way to check this place out and I will happily do the same next time I'm in the Detroit area.
