Respond to Review of Gongdelin Vegetarian Restaurant
Review: The menu at Gongdelin does include some above-average veggie fare, but whether it's "better enough" to justify the far above average prices is debatable, especially considering its below-average service. I spent much of my meal contemplating how far Gongdelin seems to have fallen from its noble origins - apparently founded by venerated spiritualist out of great compassion, but now peddling cheap beer without a trace of mindfulness or a hint of a smile. I felt it was worth going once as a field study in the vegetarian history of China, and the tasty food rewarded my curiosity, but i doubt i'd return. If you want high-end, try Pure Lotus, and if you want equal-or-better food with much better service for lower prices, try Tianchu Miaoxiang Vegetarian in Chaowai.
