Respond to Review of New Leaf Community Market
Review: This is 1 of 6 of the New Leaf chain of stores on the Central Coast, though the Boulder Creek and Felton stores have a different owner than the other 4. You can tell. This store has a nice little Mountain Community feel to it, but still has a surprising selection of options for both veg and vegans. Besides all the normal packaged and canned pastas, sauces, soups, beans and veggies, all with several veg/an options, you'll also find a nice array of frozen goods including vegan entrees, frozen pizzas, a few vegan ice creams, and a basic selection of frozen meat alternatives. Lots of veg/an stove and microwaveable single serving items. The dairy section is complete with agood cheese selection, plus a good dozen vegan milk choices, several vegan spreads, vegan butter, and even a few vegan cheeses. Tofu, tempeh, seitan, tofu sausages and soy chorizos, as well assome flavored and ethnic tofus. Bulk section has a nice choice of beans, grains, cereals, treats, coffee and teas. Nice beer and wine selection(including vegan labeled), good breads, and all the basic household items. Like all the New Leafs, this one strives for an organic and locally produced product representation. Small but worthy produce section. Really nice deli with a few vegan options always available in the case, plus fresh made sandwiches starting at $5.50, with veg/an choices like baked tofu, veggie burger, tempeh bacon, and vegan pesto spread. Lots of pre-packaged single serving veg/an burritos, snadwiches, wraps, foods and treats. This store does have a small meat section, but is fairly unintrusive.
