Review: As of Feb 2015, this little pop-up buffet table is still Luang Prabang's only 100% vegetarian eatery, and it seems to do a roaring trade. There's a very good selection of Lao vegan dishes to choose from here. The only downside is that, even when we arrived right when they opened at 5:00pm, most of the dishes were lukewarm at best and several were cold. This isn't just an issue of taste and texture; it's also a health issue, since potentially harmful bacteria starts growing on most cooked foods left out longer than 45 minutes or so. For this reason, we suggest that everyone who eats here do as we did: Ask them to heat up the food for you. If enough of their customers ask, perhaps they'll realize the importance of this. That said, the food is tasty and the people serving it are delightful, and at 10,000 kip (barely more than $1 US) for as much as you care to pile on your plate, the price can't be beat. So, if you don't mind crowds, communal tables, and a potentially jostling wander to find this place, we think it's a great experience to eat here at least once, even if only to get a taste of local life and support people who are selling vegetarian food.
