Review: Although the name of the place is "NS Food and Gifts", it does indeed include a vegetarian restaurant. There are seven long tables each seating six people at folding chairs. It is clean, cool, well lighted, and smells good. There are no menus, only a list of about 25 main dishes written on a whiteboard. The prices are astounding, ranging from $3 to $7, except for the Thali (combo plate) which I ordered. That is $7.47 + tax. Meals are served on a tray with paper plates and Styrofoam bowls. The meal appeared in about five minutes. There were two Roti and a crisp bread (not exactly a papadum). The bread was undistinguished. A plate of excellent basmati jasmine rice; a potato and carrot dish spiced with cilantro; chickpeas and spinach, a squash soup (quite spicy), an excellent sweet containing coconut flakes, nuts, and some sort of grain; and a sweet bread that looked like a corn bread, but wasn't. I enjoyed all of the dishes. So the food was quite good and would more than satisfy the heartiest appetite. You certainly can't beat the price. It's not fancy but I thought the food was good and the ambiance clean, bright, and friendly. Updated from previous review on Saturday September 21, 2013
