Review: We ended up eating here twice in our short visit to Paris because of its convenient location. The restaurant atmosphere is OK - not great, though the bathroom is rather icky. The food is good, but also not great. The first time I ordered the burger that several reviewers raved about. It wasn't all that terrific. Good, but not so amazing. I asked if the bun was whole wheat (and I said it in French) and I was told yes, but it was not. This was disappointing - I did not eat it, which means what was already a rather small portion was even less filling. My spouse ordered the seitan steak and he enjoyed it, though the rice served with it was white rice (the grain of the day). The correlation between vegan and whole grains is lower in Paris than what we find elsewhere. The chocolate cream dessert was very tasty. The first time they did not have the Creme Brulee. The second visit I ordered the fake shrimp. I've never tasted shrimp in my life, so I can't know if it tasted anything like shrimp, but I doubt it. It was quite rubbery and had very little taste at all. The side of vegetables was sparse and not particularly tasty. The kasha (the grain of the day) was fine. My spouse ordered the double steak. He was pleased with it, but the seitan steak was better. The portions are small. We had dessert - this time I had the Creme Brulee, which was interesting and tasty, and I had hot chocolate, which was good. My spouse had the chocolate banana cake, which he liked, with coffee. Overall we felt pleased, but there is room for improvement. Updated from previous review on Saturday June 25, 2011
