Review: The restaurant is located in a quiet back street a stone's throw from the Les Halles shopping mall. The place has a pleasant oriental atmosphere. On the table you will find not only Olive oil, Tabasco and Shoyu, but also Yeast powder (flakes, actually) and Gomasio. Enough to make a tasty snack even out of a piece of bread. I had no problem communicating with the staff on any of my three visits. I tried the house salad that was excellent, as was the Soy "meat" with lentils and potatoes (baked, not fried). I don't usually eat meat substitutes, but when traveling... Most of the menu is vegan, and the staff will help you order. They are ready to improvise, say if you have a child with you and need a special order. After three visits I found the menu somewhat limited (as I am not really into Soy meat), but in hot weather a good salad is pretty much all I want anyway. Bottom line: Yes, the world of vegan cuisine is wider than the menu at Saveurs VegetHalles, but I will definitely stop by next time I am in Paris!
