Respond to Review of CLOSED: Saf Restaurant and Bar
Review: Me wife and I trolled to Saf for our wedding anniversary on a quiet Tuesday in Shoreditch. However the joint was soon packed to the gills with young funky things... and us. Hilariously titled and deliciously strong cocktails (e.g. Guilty Husband" - champagne & flowers, "Innocent Mistress") were the start of one taste sensation after another; sounds corny, but we were blown away again and again. We started with spring rolls and maki, enjoyed the 'cheese' course (Macademia, and Cashew au poivre), and for main had pizzette and the Thai curry, and finished up with pumpkin pie and ganache tart. The flavours were sublime and we were overjoyed that we'd ventured here - the trendy reviews and raw food reputation had put us off slightly. The portions did seem a tad small at first, but we left with full stomachs and reeling palates. I don't imagine that even a quarter of the clientele were vegan, or even veggie - Saf seems to be doing such a great job knocking everyone's socks off that the clientele doesn't miss meat and dairy. How lucky are we to have yet another fantastic vegan (although Saf carefully avoids over-emphasizing the V word) restaurant within spitting distance?
