Respond to Review of CLOSED: Saf Restaurant and Bar
Review: I ate here with 2 friends on 9th may 2008. It was a Friday evening, and when I rang to book that afternoon I was informed thaat it was fully booked, but that if we came down and had a drink while we waited they would fit us in. We arrived about 8, and got to order around 9pm. Nice environment to restaurant with outdoor courtyard. Some very tempting dishes on the menu and even the cocktails had a veggie twist (my g'n't had tarragon in it!). Was disappointed to see my lasagne when it arrived though - looked so small a portion it could have been an overgrown veggieburger, and didnt actually contain pasta. That said, it tasted great once I'd forced myself to take tiny nibbles in order to make it last. My friends ordered a rice, tofu & veg dish which seemed very wholesome although not hugely exciting, and we shared some tiny but very arty looking salads. Overall we paid about £23 a head including drinks - expensive for the quantity of food offered, although it all looked & tasted good. Good to find a vegan restaurant offering interesting & unusual choices, nice place for a special occasion, just a shame the portions were so "nouveau cuisine"
