Respond to Review of Ee Beng Vegetarian Food Center
Review: I've been patronising this place ever since I discovered it six months ago, and must say I'm quite shocked to read the negative reviews that have popped up. If your daily meal requirements don't comprise raw, organic, low-fat, low-sodium biodynamic sprouts (uh *hello* we're in Asia!) Ee Beng is, in my humble (yet uber fussy) gastronomic opinion, the best-tasting ethical feed you'll get this side of the China Sea. My carnivorous dining companion recently remarked that 'If every meal tasted like this, I'd happily go vegetarian'! Plus, they make an absolutely *amazingly* delicious Asam Laksa (Penang specialty, minus the fish-based broth). NB The buffet, which boasts enough dishes to keep you trying out for several weeks, is on the left and open for breakfast till late lunch; the somewhat more upmarket restaurant (in decor only) is open from 12-10pm (except Thursdays) is situated on the right.
